South KC Crisis and Access Campus

COMING IN 2026!

THE VISION

A permanent home for Adult & Youth Urgent Care, Partial Hospital Program, Intake, counseling and psychiatric services, and a Genoa Pharmacy – all in one central location.

THE NEED

ReDiscover is in the process of developing a South Kansas City Behavioral Health Crisis & Access Campus, which includes the renovation of a building at 9550 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City MO 64134. Individuals will have access to all the services currently offered at our Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinics, including partial hospital and intensive outpatient programs, plus same day referrals and community supports, strategically located on a bus line. Rediscover served 6,506 individuals in our current Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinics in 2024 and anticipate serving over 7,500 in 2025. The growing demand for these services calls for a new and centralized campus that incorporates trauma-informed best practice physical space design for behavioral healthcare. The new campus also includes space for on-site collaboration with law enforcement and emergency medical services based on community feedback.

Our total project cost is $19,550,000 and we have raised $2,308,210 to date through ARPA funding and local foundation grants.

Access

Centrally located in ReDiscover’s South service area at the corner of Bannister & Blue Ridge Blvd, with good access to public transportation. The campus lot size of 6.4 acres for potential future expansion, and houses a 50,000 square foot building located 2 blocks from our Treatment Options Program Methadone Clinic.

Community

The new campus includes space for on-site collaboration with law enforcement and emergency medical services – both collaborations based on community feedback. It will house Adult & Youth Urgent Care, Partial Hospital Program, Intake, counseling and psychiatric services, and a Genoa Pharmacy

Impact

Our services help control healthcare costs by providing same-day care and reducing more costly emergency room visits. Currently open 7 days a week from 9a-9p with plans to expand to 24/7 services in the new SKC facility. Referrals typically are from family members, hospitals, law enforcement, paramedics, courts, schools and self-referrals.

ReDiscover opened the first behavioral health crisis center in Missouri about 9 years ago and expanded its services to include an urgent care model in 2020, in response to rising suicides and overdose deaths. These services have been located in a small office building ReDiscover already owned; however, it is not ideal for providing crisis services. Additionally, we have outgrown the space with individuals and families frequently waiting in cars or outside on the sidewalk because the lobby area is full. We are ALL excited about the new campus and what it will provide its community.
